Steven Pickard, a class of 2026 offensive lineman recruit from IMG Academy in Florida, committed to Syracuse football Saturday, he announced in a 247Sports release. Pickard is the eighth commitment for head coach Fran Brown’s 2026 recruiting haul, which ranks 15th in the country, per 247Sports.
With Pickard, the Orange now have two commitments from the state of Florida in 2026, along with three-star lineman Javeion Cooper. Pickard visited SU for its regular-season finale against Miami on Nov. 30, 2024, and spoke with The Daily Orange regarding Brown’s Florida-based recruiting push.
“I think they’re really going after the talent,” Pickard said of Syracuse. “The best way to get the best talent is to really hammer down the places that have the best football.”
Pickard stands at 6-foot-5, 300 pounds, possessing versatility to play all five spots on the offensive line. He’s not yet rated by recruiting sites like 247Sports and On3 at this time. His experience playing on IMG — which finished this past season as the 10th-ranked high school football program in the U.S. — should help his transition into Division I.
